The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) will be organising the ACCCIM Seminar on Corporate Criminal Liability for Corruption (Section 17A MACC Act) on 1st November 2019 (Friday) at 9.00 am to 1.00 pm at the Seng Peng Hall, Wisma Chinese Chamber, 258, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur.
The enforcement of Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009 will be effective from June 2020. Under the new provision, a commercial organisation could be prosecuted if a person associated with the organisation commits a corrupt act. In view of this, ACCCIM organise the Seminar on Corporate Liability to introduce the Corporate Liability Provision and its implications to Directors, Partners and Management of Commercial Organisations so as to create awareness.
YB Datuk Liew Vui Keong, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law) is the Guest of Honour and will deliver a keynote address. Tan Sri Datuk Ter Leong Yap, President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) cum President of ACCCIM will deliver a speech.
