Malaysia-China Enterprises Business Matching Conference 2019

In conjunction with the 45th anniversary celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China and to promote the exchange and cooperation of SMEs between China and Malaysia, The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), and Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad are jointly organising the “Malaysia-China Enterprises Business Matching Conference 2019” on 10th September 2019 (Tuesday), at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The conference has received strong support from Government agencies including Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp.), as well as major private sector organisations such as the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM), Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC), China Enterprises Association in Malaysia (CENAM) and China Students Association Malaysia (CSAM).

The Guest of Honour for the conference is YB Mr. Tan Kok Wai, Special Envoy of Malaysia to the People’s Republic of China cum Chairman of Malaysia China Business Council (MCBC). Distinguished leaders that delivered speeches at the conference are H.E. Mr. Bai Tian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, Tan Sri Datuk Ter Leong Yap, President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) cum President of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) and Mr. Qiu Zhikun, Deputy Chief Executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited.

China and Malaysia are important countries in the region and friendly neighbors. The two countries enjoy a long history of friendship. China and Malaysia are staunch supporters and advocates of economic globalization. Both sides have played an important and positive role in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), safeguarding the multilateral trading system, deepening regional cooperation, promoting China-ASEAN relations and East Asia cooperation.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China-Malaysia. Over the past 45 years, despite changes in the international scenario, China and Malaysia have always worked together in the spirit of openness and inclusiveness, for mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. The effective docking of Chinese and Malaysian enterprises will help the two countries draw on each other’s strengths in capital, technology, human resources and markets, deepen trade and investment cooperation, achieve common development, promote sustainable economic and social development and bring more benefits to the people of both countries.

Following the successful co-hosting of the “Malaysia-China SMEs Business Matching Conference 2018” on February 5th 2018, the three parties have worked together once again to promote the business matching with a bigger scale and higher level of enterprises, so as to build a platform for more Chinese and Malaysian enterprises to further consolidate the foundation of bilateral cooperation and push the bilateral relations to a higher level. We hope that this business cooperation meeting will enable enterprises of both sides to achieve more mutually beneficial cooperation results.

The 10 focus sectors for business matching are as followings: –

  2. Fruits Trading;
  3. Food Processing and Trading;
  4. Auto Parts and Accessories;
  5. Electronic and Electrical;
  6. E-Commerce;
  7. Medical Supplies;
  8. Tourism (includes Wellness, Agrotourism, Ecotourism etc.);
  9. Building Material;
  10. Logistics

 

Information counters are also set up at the business matching venue to provide enterprises with free government policies and incentives for investment in Malaysia, trade promotion, China International Import Expo and other related business opportunities, banking, legal and accounting services, etc. Participating in the provision of consulting services including: Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), Bank of China, China Enterprises Association in Malaysia (CENAM), Michael Chai & Co. Advocates & Solicitors and Reanda LLKG International Chartered Accounting firm.

The conference was attended by 700 participants, out of which 91 China companies and 202 Malaysian companies have participated the business matching. The conference had successfully arranged 305 matching sessions, of which 199 cooperation intentions have been reached, an increase of 70% compared with last year. Moreover, 51 contracts have been signed on site with an increase of 5.7 times compared with last year.
