The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) supports the framework of Madani Economy: Empowering the people, which aims to restructure and elevate Malaysia for a better future – sustainable, competitive and resilient.
Malaysia is at a crossroad. The Malaysian economy has been plagued with structural challenges and weaknesses over the years, resulting in the country lagging behind in many aspects. Hence, it is imperative that we must implement the much needed economic and institutional reforms and transformation to stay ahead of the curve, if not, the country will continue to lagging behind.
The Government has to build forward-looking macro-economic narratives to convince Malaysians that we have to leverage on our inherent strengths (people diversity, strategically location in Asia and strong industry base) to regain our competitive position in the region.
Strong political leadership, great narratives and discourses all play a decisive role in ensuring public policies can impact the economy and businesses in a wider and more effective way. Good policies coordination and clarity as well as execution are key to success.
