Ladies and gentlemen,

1. Good evening to all of you. It gives me great pleasure to be here today to celebrate the 119th Anniversary Dinner of KLSCCCI. On behalf of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), I would like to extend our warmest Congratulations to KLSCCCI on this major milestone of 119 fruitful years.

2. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to YAB Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor for gracing this occasion as our Guest of Honour, despite the busy schedule and the ongoing Selangor International Business Summit.

3. YAB Menteri Besar’s presence here today reflects a strong partnership between the State Government and the business community in Selangor. Your strong support has provided the momentum for Selangor to sustain its economic powerhouse as it is today.

4. Let us take a few minutes to reflect on the remarkable journey that Selangor State has undergone over the years. Selangor now stands as the largest contributor to Malaysian economy, accounting for an impressive 26% of Malaysia’s GDP. Together with the KL areas where some of the KLSCCCI members are operating, the combined Selangor and KL business activities accounted for 41% of Malaysia’s GDP. This achievement is a testament of resilience and hard work for the people in Selangor and KL.

5. One of the key factors that supports Selangor for this key position, is the roles it plays as a manufacturing and services hub, as well as competent SMEs that form part of the global supply chain for various crucial industries.

6. The electrical and electronics industry has boomed, making Selangor a hub for technology and innovation. The automotive sector continues to expand, while the logistics and port services have been the backbone of moving goods and services, both within the country and internationally. Together with the aerospace, medical healthcare, pharmaceutical industries, digital and telecommunication, as well as SMEs which have made Selangor their home, these have generated valuable jobs and investments.

7. Selangor’s success is a story of working together to create a conducive investment environment for business sector. ACCCIM and The Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of KL and Selangor have played our role in this journey. We connect businesses and the government, providing recommendations to tackle emerging issues, and helping various economic sectors to prosper in a competitive environment and creating employment for the people here.

8. Despite the challenging external and domestic environment, there are still ample investment opportunities in Klang valley, given the recent launching of the Madani Economy framework and New Industrial Master Plan. With the fundamentals built over the years, we would still be able to attract and retain the domestic direct investment and FDIs. This is on condition that the country undertakes initiatives to cut down the unnecessary bureaucracy and red tapes, and provide necessary talents for the high value-added sectors in the competitive global business environment. Together, we can ensure that Selangor’s economic engine continues to drive the nation forward.

9. Once again, I would like to express our gratitude to YAB Dato Menteri Besar for his continuous support and for being with us tonight. Let us celebrate this 119th anniversary of KLSCCCI with pride, and a commitment to a brighter future for our nation.

10. 隆雪隆雪中总自1904年创立以来，曾经历英殖民统治、两次世界大战、马来亚独立、马来西亚成立等重大事件的发生，而且在当中均扮演了重要的角色。创立以来，隆雪中总不但致力于促进工商业发展，也从不忘提倡社会福利，积极推广文化、教育工作，对社会做出的重要贡献，大家有目共睹。

11. 中总也感谢拿督吴逸平及隆雪中总一直以来给予中总的密切配合和支持，正如中总的所有属会以及全国的中总人，和中总一起同呼吸、共命运、共同成长。

12. 最后，我再次热烈恭贺隆雪中总欢庆119周年纪念，并祝福晚宴圆满成功。我相信，在拿督吴逸平会长的领导下，隆雪中总全体董事和会员，肯定会持续精诚团结，群策群力，一起把会务推向新高峰。我也祝愿在座各位事业兴旺，平安健康。谢谢！
