ACCCIM’S PRESS STATEMENT ON VISIT BY HUNGARIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

Dr. László Parragh, President of Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) paid a courtesy visit to The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) on February 22, 2024. The business delegation was warmly received by Tan Sri Low Kian Chuan, President of ACCCIM.

Tan Sri Low Kian Chuan said, Malaysia and Hungary shares cordial and longstanding bilateral relations with commitment for friendly cooperation since 1969 with the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries. The camaraderie between Malaysia and Hungary is not only limited to state-to-state relations, but also developed into strong economic and social ties between the people from both countries.

He added, ACCCIM had organised trade mission to Hungary in April 2019 to explore business opportunities in Hungary. In return, HCCI also led a delegation to visit ACCCIM and signed MoU with the chamber to promote bilateral trade and enhance economic relations, which also marked the continuous and strong ties between two chambers.

Dr. László Parragh said, the political and economic relations between the ASEAN region and Hungary have developed greatly in recent years. In line with the Hungary’s policy of opening up to the East since 2012, the bilateral trade and investment relations have developed dynamically. He added, the recent world political events are expected to further enhance the value of Southeast Asian countries as trading partners.

Also present at the interaction were H.E. Dr. Petra Ponevacs-Pana, Ambassador of Hungary to Malaysia, Mr. Mr. Gabor Kozma, Head of the Economic Section of Embassy of Hungary in Malaysia, Mr. Ferenc Miklóssy, First Vice-President of HCCI, Dr. Endre Ascsillán, Chairman of the ASEAN Committee of HCCI, Mr. András Rév, Vice-Chairman of the Committee for International Affairs of HCCI, Dato’ Jeffery Tan, Deputy Secretary II of ACCCIM, Dato’ Ng Yok Gee, National Council Member cum Chairman of International Trade and Industry Committee of ACCCIM and Dato’ Andrew Goh, National Council Member cum Deputy Chairman of International Trade and Industry Committee of ACCCIM.

The HCCI’s business delegations consists of 20 representatives from 12 companies, ACCCIM had arranged business matching session for the members of both chambers.
